The Suffern Village Board is happy to announce its new Summertime Access program. Members of the Village Board will be available to meet with Suffern residents and business people on Saturday mornings at the Suffern Train Museum, which is located at the rear of the “A” parking lot.
Suffern residents and business people are invited to come in and talk with their elected officials about issues affecting them and life in the village. “This is another way we can open up village government to the people of Suffern,” said Deputy Mayor Bruce Simon. “Mayor Dagan LaCorte and the members of the Village Board are committed to making things more transparent than they've ever been. We want people to have every opportunity to interact with their elected officials, both inside and outside Village Hall.”
Mayor LaCorte added, “Many people are unable to come into Village Hall to meet with me or the members of the Village Board during working hours. I'm excited to offer everyone the chance to meet with us at a time that's hopefully more convenient.”
Deputy Mayor Simon continues to oversee the new program that has resulted in meetings of the Village Board, Planning Board, and Zoning Board of Appeals being put online at the village's official website, www.suffernvillage.com. With these files now available, anyone who's interested in the process of government can watch the footage from the meetings at their convenience, instead of waiting for their TV provider to show them.
A schedule for the Village Board members and their available times at the Suffern Train Museum will be announced shortly on RamapoTimes.com.
