RAMAPO, New York – The wait is over. The Rockland Boulders baseball team will be opening up America’s best new ballpark, Provident Bank Park, on June 16 at 7:30 p.m. in a matchup with the Brockton Rox in Can-Am League action. Manager Dave LaPoint, a former New York Yankee, leads the Boulders in the new state-of-the-art ballpark that is located in Rockland County, New York.
“I am extremely happy to be in Rockland and to serve as their first-ever manager,” said LaPoint. “To me, the Boulders can be one of the premier franchises in all of professional baseball with their metro New York location and beautiful new ballpark.”
Please plan on arriving early on Thursday night to get in on all the action. A ribbon cutting ceremony will occur at 5:30 p.m. on the home plate plaza after which the gates will open to the fans for the first time. Fans can also meet the Boulders’ mascot, which will be making its debut, along with clowns, face painting, and musicians. Pregame ceremonies begin at 7:10 p.m., with Master Sergeant Mary Kay Messenger singing the national anthem before the first pitch at 7:30 p.m.
The ballpark, located conveniently off exit 12 of the Palisades Parkway, seats approximately 4,500 fans and is filled with family-fun, sports entertainment amenities. In addition to family-affordable ticket prices, Provident Bank Park has a fan-friendly feel with a 360-degree concourse filled with features for all ages.
With tickets as low as $8.00, Boulders games will allow families to enjoy America’s pastime without breaking the bank, or traveling far from home.
“We have created a ballpark with families in mind,” said Ken Lehner, President of the Rockland Boulders. “A family of any size can experience Boulders baseball in an affordable manner.”
BoulderBerg, the ballpark’s kid zone, is equipped with a playground mounted on a soft, rubber composite matting, and a child-friendly concession stand, stocked with ice cream and soon-to-be famous LuLu’s Macaroons.
Provident Bank Park provides a first class experience with a variety of unique luxuries such as the one-of-a-kind Dugout of Dreams located in the Boulder’s home dugout. The 150-foot dugout has a designated section for fans that are separated from the players by a mere glass window and swing gate.
“We have built a fan-friendly ballpark,” said Lehner. “Fans will head to the exits with memories for a lifetime.”
