Ramapo Police Department Blotter: Pedestrian Struck


On 06/26/11, at approximately 3:14 pm, the Ramapo Police Department responded to the intersection of West Maple Avenue and Boxwood Lane for the report of a child struck by a motor vehicle. Upon investigation it was discovered that a 2004 Honda was travelling northbound on West Maple Avenue when a 10 year old boy rode his bicycle eastbound across the street in front of the vehicle and was subsequently struck. Hatzolah Ambulance responded to the scene and removed the child to Westchester Medical Center for a leg injury. The operator of the Honda was a 16 year old from Suffern, N.Y. As of this time no summonses were issued.
