At the Open House, learn all about RCC’s Paralegal Program, which is approved by the American Bar Association, and even sign up for classes. Find out about internships and job opportunities too. The program offers both a post-degree certificate and an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies. The paralegal instructors are all professionals, attorneys and paralegals with many years of experience.
“The US Department of Labor website states that employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 28% between 2008 and 2018, much faster than the average for all occupations, and they regularly rank the paralegal field as one of the fastest growing in the nation,” said Deborah Vinecour, Esq., Chair/Associate Professor, Paralegal Program. Vinecour, who has been in the field for 20 years notes, “There are so many different varieties of paralegal work, and RCC offers a good generalized paralegal education. It’s a wonderful starting point for anyone.”
For more information, please contact Deborah Vinecour Esq. at 845. 574. 4169, dvinecou@sunyrockland.edu or visit www.sunyrockland.edu/paralegal. Paralegals are not licensed to practice law, they work under the supervision of an attorney.
