Ramapo Police Department Blotter

On 06/27/11 at approximately 9:50am, the Ramapo Police Department responded to the intersection of Route 306 and Phyllis Terrace for the report of wires down. Upon investigation, the officers observed that overhead wires had been pulled down by a tractor trailer travelling northbound on Route 306 attempting to turn east onto Phyllis Terrace.
As a result, the wires subsequently became entangled on the vehicle. Route 306 was shut down between Maple Avenue and Rita Avenue from the time of the incident and is expected to remain closed to traffic until approximately 1:00pm while Orange and Rockland, Verizon and Cablevision perform repairs. New York State Department of Transportation was also notified due to damage being sustained to a control box for the traffic light at that intersection.

The tractor trailer was operated by a Rolando Huezo, from Elizabeth, N.J. and the vehicle was registered to Lease Line Inc. in North Brunswick, N.J. No injuries were reported at this time and summonses may be issued pending outcome of investigation.
