The Boulder Bleacher Bums were back—with new recruits last night as the Boulders took on the New Jersey Jackals in the second game of a three game series at Provident Bank Park.
More fans joined Buttler’s Boulder Bleacher Bums out in section 122 including members of Vic Buttler’s family including his young son.
When not heckling the Jackals number 19, the ‘Bums led by original Bleacher Bums Mike & Chris Clifford, Brad Cohen and Mark Persaud stomped their feet and led the crowd in a number of chants and cheers.
When they realized that they had members of Buttler’s family in their midst, the cheering and chanting began with even more enthusiasm including “BABY BUTTLER” referencing the toddler.
In the ninth inning with the game tied at 4 a piece, the Boulder Bleacher Bums came alive as third baseman Ryan Mollica smacked a shot over the right field wall to end the game with a walk-off home run.
“We take full credit for getting the crowd behind the Boulders to help them with their walk-off win” said original Bleacher Bum Mike Clifford.
Many of the Boulder Bleacher Bums will not be in attendance as they have prior commitment with their dads this father’s day but expect them to return next week louder than ever.
