Ramapo Independence Celebration


Suffern, N.Y. – Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence announced today that the Town of Ramapo’s Annual Family Event “The Celebration of Liberty & Pride” will take place on Sunday, June 26th at Rockland Community College.  Gates will open at 5:30 PM.  This year’s festivities will feature local entertainment, skydivers, a live performance by Soul Street and a spectacular fireworks show presented by Zambelli International.

Soul Street, led by Reggie Woods, is comprised of a very talented group of musicians.  Reggie woods and Soul Street have performed with Stevie Wonder, Tony Bennett, Lionel Hampton, Isaac Hayes, Ben E. King, R. Kelly, Run DMC, Billy Joel and many more.  Zambelli International known as the “First Family of Fireworks” is one of the best in the country, and has dazzled audiences throughout the world.
Gates will open at 5:30 PM – free admission – all Rocklanders welcome – the Fireworks rain date is Monday, June 27, 2011 at 8:30 PM at RCC.  If we experience inclement weather, the Soul Street Concert will take place on Sunday, June 26th at The Joseph T. St. Lawrence Community, Health & Sports Center, 115 Torne Valley Road, Hillburn, New York, starting at 8:00 PM.  Please bring chairs and blankets to the Concert.
