Jill S. Pryor Was Honored As Woman of the Year At Rockland Business Women¹s Network (RBWN) Annual Awards Dinner



Piermont, NY––Jill S. Pryor, president and founder of Pryor PR, Inc., was honored as RBWN Woman of the Year at RBWN’s 2011 Annual Awards & Scholarship Dinner on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at The View in Piermont, NY.  She was also presented with An Award of Excellence from Rockland County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoeff, a Certificate of Merit from the Supervisor of the Town of Clarkstown Alexander Gromack, and personally presented with a Distinguished Service Award of the County of Rockland from Harriet D. Cornell, Chairwoman of The Legislature of Rockland County. 

In presenting the award, RBWN president Beth Blecker said, “An award-winning marketing professional, Jill has received many awards for personal achievement and distinguished service to Rockland County. The RBWN is pleased to add Woman of the Year to Jill’s list of accomplishments.”

In accepting her award, RBWN Woman of the Year Jill S. Pryor said, “ I work assiduously to place clients ‘in the public eye,’ and rarely step in the limelight myself.  However, I accepted this award to help raise funds for RBWN’s 2011 Charity of the Year, Home Aides of Rockland, Inc., and for its yearly scholarships.  I am also pleased to share the recognition with Arlene Levine of who volunteers innumerable hours of her marketing and design expertise to RBWN and with Cecilia Halverson, executive director of Home Aides of Rockland.  Thank you for this special award.  I deeply appreciate the honor and the countless hours of effort and dedication of those who made this evening possible.  I know that I will long remember the evening and the recognition.”

Pryor serves as Pryor PR’a overall director, managing client public image and reputation through strategic marketing, public relations, advertising, and social media.  Pryor PR is the second agency she has founded. 
Ms. Pryor graduated cum laude with dual degrees in education and English and was awarded two undergraduate fellowships and elected to Phi Beta Kappa, Alpha Lambda Delta and Kappa Delta Pi.  She holds several graduate and post-graduate degrees. 

Prior to starting her own agencies, Jill had an accomplished career as an educator and educational consultant and was instrumental in introducing and supporting national and state legislation mandating gifted education. An award-winning marketing professional, she is an experienced strategist, designer, copywriter, published author, journalist, columnist, editor, speaker and lecturer with a background in marketing research. She was a member of the marketing research team that launched a major national coffee brand.

Having achieved and maintained leadership positions in numerous professional and community organizations, Jill has received many awards and honors including: awards for personal achievement and distinguished service from the Rockland County Legislature, Rockland County Women's Network (now RBWN), and the New City Rotary Club; being named Rockland Division March of Dimes Volunteer of the Year and Rockland County's top Business Leader in the twenty-fifth anniversary edition of the Rockland Review, the Girl Scouts of Rockland County’s Business Person of the Year – 2001..
She currently serves on the Board of the Helen Hayes Hospital Foundation and participates in their various event and fundraising activities and committees. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Rockland Chapter of the American Red Cross, the New City Rotary, the Rockland Business Association (RBA), the International Business Network and the Rockland Business Exchange (RBE), where she served as Membership & Publicity Chair for more than a decade. 

She founded and served as President of Communication Professionals of Rockland (CPR) and as Chair of the Rockland Division of the March of Dimes. She has been a member of the Public Relations Society of America, the American Society of Advertising and Promotion, the Advertising Club of Westchester, Rockland Business Women's Network, National Association for Female Executives, Association for Women in Communications, Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Greater Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, and numerous community organizations. She represented New York State as an Honorary Chairman of the Business Advisory Council of the National Republican Congressional Committee. 

Jill is a graduate of Leadership Rockland, class of 1992-93, and is an Honorary Lifetime member of PTA.  She has been recognized by Who Who’s in MarketingWho’s Who International and North American Directory of Who’s Who as well as Who’s Who in the Northeast and several other volumes of Marquis’ Who’s Who.  She was elected to the first edition of Who’s Who in Media and Communications 1998/1999, the International Who’s Who of Professionals, the first edition ofWho's Who in Advertising, 1990/1991The World Who's Who of Women2,000 Notable American WomenInternational Who's Who of Professional & Business Women 2001.
