RCC Community Jazz Ensemble Concert


Ramapo, NY – The RCC Community Jazz Ensemble, led by noted musical director Michael E. Smith, will perform at the Cultural Arts Center on Monday, June 6th.

Admission: Free for All Students, $7 for Adults, and $5 for Seniors over 60
The RCC Community Jazz Ensemble is led by Michael E. Smith, who has worked extensively with many big bands, including renowned musical groups such as the Duke Ellington Orchestra and Guy Lombardo. Some of the musical stars he has worked with over the years are Clark Terry, Rosemary Clooney, the Temptations, Four Tops, Platters, Drifters, and so many others. Smith’s extensive musical background also includes musical direction and arrangement for network television and musical theater. The RCC Community Jazz Ensemble performs as an extension of the RCC Jazz Ensemble Course, which is offered through the Center for Personal and Professional Development. This course is open to musicians with a minimum of three years of instrumental experience who are high school seniors, college students, or adults. Interested musicians also undergo a placement audition for membership in the Ensemble.
