Suffern, N.Y. – Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence announced today the opening of an Interactive Splash Pad which is attached to the Spook Rock Town Pool Complex.
Splash Pads are the most popular new aquatic features being constructed across the country.  From hardly being in existence 15 years ago, now over 50% of aquatic facilities include a splash pad.  A splash pad is an aquatic play area for small children to teenagers with fountains, sprays, jets and other special features without standing water.  Known for its safety, all the water immediately drains to an underground holding tank where it is filtered and treated to go back through the features again.  The new Town of Ramapo Splash Pad has twenty-five interactive elements.  “Splash Pads simply make all water activities safer for children and add a state of the art aspect to our aquatics program” said Supervisor St. Lawrence.
The Splash Pad at the Spook Rock Pool Complex is located on Spook Rock Road in Suffern and is open during the hours of 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM Monday through Friday and 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM on Saturdays & Sundays.
