Griset Medina was indicted on July 20, 2011 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crime of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated with a Child (10 counts).
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about July 2, 2011, at approximately 7:00 p.m., a member of the New York State Park Police observed the defendant driving through a parking lot at Rockland State Park with two young adults standing on the bumper of the vehicle. Upon stopping and approaching vehicle, the Officer observed five children (between ages 1 and 12) in the vehicle. Upon speaking to defendant, the Officer observed defendant to be in an intoxicated condition as evinced by the odor of an alcoholic beverage, glassy eyes and impaired motor coordination. The defendant failed three sobriety tests and her blood alcohol content revealed a .15%.
