Joel Candelario aka Debo, Age 24 of Nanuet, NY was sentenced on June 27, 2011, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 6 years and 5 years post release supervision after pleading guilty to Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on September 14 and September 21, 2009, the defendant sold another individual cocaine for $100. On another occasion the defendant sold another individual herion for $100. Both sales occurred in the Laundromat located on West Broad in the Village of Haverstraw.
Lester Cardona-Espino, Age 21 of Spring Valley, NY was sentenced on June 27, 2011, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 1 year after pleading guilty to Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree. Both charges are to be served concurrently.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on February 16, 2011 at approximately 6:45 pm members of the Spring Valley Police Department executed a search warrant at 78 West Church Street. The search revealed 23 gel capsules containing cocaine, 13 capsules were recovered in a plastic drawer cart and approximately 100 ziplock bags. The 23 gel capsules containing cocaine weighed more than 1/8 ounces.
DA Zugibe further states that on January 5, 2011 the defendant sold another individual two pill capsules containing cocaine for the sum of $100 on two occasions while in a car stationed at Kennedy Drive in the Village of Spring Valley.
Felix Castro-Duran, Age 26 of Spring Valley, NY was sentenced on June 27, 2011, before New York State Supreme Court Justice William A. Kelly to a state prison term of 1 year after pleading guilty to Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on March 22 and March 23, 2011, the defendant sold another individual two zip lock bags containing cocaine for the sum of $100 and $50 on two occasions while in a bar located at 288 North Main Street in the Village of Spring Valley.
