Rockland County District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe today announced that all charges pending against Aron Wieder (DOB 05/22/74) of Spring Valley, New York have been dismissed by the Clarkstown Justice Court.
Wieder was accused of blocking the entrance to a polling station at Hillcrest Elementary School in New City during the May 17th East Ramapo Central School District elections. He was arrested by Clarkstown Police and charged with one count of violating section 17-152 of state Election Law, Conspiracy to Promote or Prevent Election, a class “A” Misdemeanor.
District Attorney Zugibe stated, “After conducting a thorough investigation and carefully evaluating all of the evidence, we concluded that the appropriate course of action was to recommend to the Court a dismissal of the charges.”
Said Zugibe, “Neither the facts or circumstances of the alleged incident support the prosecution of the charge.”
