July 12, 2011 Rockland County, NY: The Rockland Business Women’s Network (RBWN) announced today that Dara L. Onofrio, Esq., an intellectual property attorney in Nyack, NY assumed the role of president of the not-for-profit organization for a two-year term, effective July 1, 2011.
Onofrio has been part of the organization for several years, most recently serving as executive vice president before moving up to run the organization.
“I believe so much in the value of an organization like the RBWN, geared toward women business leaders in Rockland County. My goal is to create continuing education opportunities for our members so that we can assist our members in growing their businesses, and in turn assist Rockland County in keeping jobs within the county.”
Onofrio has been practicing law for over 20 years and is principal of Onofrio Law, an intellectual property firm in Nyack, NY, where she provides legal counsel in the areas of patent, trademark and copyright law. In addition to her role at the RBWN, Onofrio also has been the Village Justice for Grand View-on-Hudson in Rockland County, New York, for over five years. She is a member of the New York State Magistrates Association. She has been an active Staff Officer in Division 10 and Flotilla 10-10 of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for the past seven years.
About the RBWN:Started in 1979, the Rockland Business Women’s Network supports and empowers women by providing networking and educational opportunities. This non-profit organization focuses on leadership and professional development, building personal and professional relationships, and community support through scholarships and training.
