Jerome Baron was indicted on July 20, 2011 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of Burglary in the 2nd Degree, Robbery in the 2nd Degree, Possession of Burglar’s Tools and Petit Larceny.
District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about June 28, 2011 at approximately 2:00 pm, the defendant and another unknown man were found by the homeowner/victim rifling through his living room. One of the men quickly walked up to the victim and began to physically attack him. While the victim and the unknown man were struggling, the second intruder, the defendant, went up to the victim and struck him with a rolled up cloth silverware bag containing the victim’s silverware which was stolen from the hutch in his living room. The unknown male was able to flee before the police arrived but the victim was able to physically hold on to the defendant until the police arrived. The second suspect was not apprehended. The victim discovered money and jewelry missing from his apartment.
