Accreditation Ceremony

The NY State Sheriff’s Association Executive Director Peter Kehoe was in Rockland County today to present Sheriff James Kralik and Chief William Clark with the NY State Sheriff’s Association Accreditation Award. The Sheriff’s Corrections Division earned this distinction of meeting and exceeding 166 professional standards set forth by the NY State Sheriff’s Association. There are over 57 agencies within the state and only 25 have been accredited.  This was a two year process spearheaded by William Clark – Chief of Corrections Division.

Peter Kehoe praised Sheriff Kralik and his Accreditation staff of Lt. Joseph McDonald and Correction Officers Keith Price and Erica Bauer for their efforts. He stated that after a three day inspection process, a final report recommending accreditation was sent to the NY State Sheriff’s Association.  Peter Kehoe presented the Accreditation Team with individual awards. Sheriff Kralik praised the efforts of Chief Clark and all of the men and women of the Corrections Division who made this possible.
The event was attended by County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef, Legislature Deputy Chair Alden Wolfe, who congratulated the Sheriff’s Corrections Division on this outstanding achievement.

Note:  This was a two year process where the Corrections Division had to meet 166 standards that were set by the state.  Out of the sixty-two counties in New York there are only two other counties (Livingston & Ontario) that have all of their divisions accredited.  The Rockland Sheriff’s Police Division (2008) and the Civil Division (2010) have previously been accredited.
