New Business Degree Programs at Rockland Community College

RCC business student.jpg
Beginning this Fall 2011, three new Associate in Science (AS) degrees are being offered through RCC’s Business and Information Technology Division. The AS degree prepares students for transfer to four-year colleges and universities after graduation. International Business, Accounting, and Marketing are the new AS degree programs offered at RCC.
Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees were already available for Marketing and Accounting.  The AAS degree is designed for students who plan on entering the workforce directly after RCC, or for people who are already employed and want to further develop their skills for career change or advancement.

Each of the new business degrees include liberal arts courses, along with a combination of accounting, marketing, international business, and economics courses, with requirements for a higher concentration of advanced courses in the specific domain of the degree. The International Business AS also requires students to complete 8 credits in a foreign language. As the world continues to evolve into a global society, it is increasingly important for students to develop the skills necessary to achieve success in a global environment.
Also this Fall, more of RCC’s Business degrees are offered entirely online, including Business Administration degrees, (both AS and AAS), Entrepreneurship, (AS, AAS and Certificate), and Marketing (AS).  Online degree programs can be an excellent and convenient alternative for students. RCC also has an extensive network of local businesses that provide internship opportunities, offering valuable real world business experience.
