Bertie Alston, age 68 of Bronx, New York, pled guilty on June 22, 2011 to Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree.
District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about June 22, 2010 at approximately 2:46 p.m. at Chase Bank located at 719 West Nyack Road, West Nyack, New York, the defendant presented a counterfeit check in the amount of $4,400.00, a counterfeit withdraw slip in the amount of $2,600 and a counterfeit Connecticut driver’s license as identification in the victim’s name. The defendant cashed both items and received $7,000.00 in cash.
On July 14, 2010 at approximately 3:47 p.m. at Chase Bank located at 123 East Route 59, Nanuet, New York, the defendant presented a counterfeit withdrawal slip in the amount of $4,200.00 and a counterfeit New Jersey Driver’s License in the victim’s name as identification and did cash the withdrawal slip and receive $4,200.00 in cash.
Sentencing is scheduled for August 31, 2011 before the Honorable Charles Apotheker, County Court Judge.
