Jessie Jones, Age 22 of Fred Hecht Drive, Spring Valley, was sentenced August 2, 2011, before New York State Acting Supreme Court Justice William K. Nelson to a state prison term of 1 ½ to 3 years after pleading guilty to Attempted Robbery in the 3rd Degree. The sentence is to be served concurrently with another charge of Attempted Robbery in the 2nd Degree and sentenced to a state prison term of 5 years and 5 years post release supervision.
District Attorney, Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about September 16, 2010, the defendant and another individual, approached the victim on West Street in the Village of Spring Valley. They demanded money from the victim while threatening the victim with a large kitchen knife. The victim threw twenty dollars on the ground and ran away. The victim called the police and defendant was subsequently charged with the robbery.
DA Zugibe further states that on or about August 22, 2010, the defendant served as a lookout while two other individuals punched and robbed the victim and thereafter the three men divided the money they took from the victim.
